Since 1975, Tina Barney has been producing large-scale photographs of her family and friends. These color prints have been exhibited and collected by such prestigious institutions as The Museum of Modern Art, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and numerous other museums in America, Europe and Japan. Tina has been the recipient of a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship, one of the highest honors conferred on artists and most recently was awarded the 2010 Lucie Award for Achievement in Portraiture.

The Europeans, a series Tina started in 1996 and completed in 2004, co-published by the Barbican Art Gallery, London and Steidl Publishers, 2005.

Tina divides her time between New York City and Rhode Island.
